Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our kitchen staff, ensuring the highest quality of food production, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Menu Development and Planning
- Collaborate with our culinary team to design and implement new menu items and specials
- Ensure that all menu offerings meet our high standards of quality and presentation
- Kitchen Operations and Management
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of our kitchen staff, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and labor expenses
- Quality Control and Assurance
- Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all food products meet our standards
- Implement corrective actions to address any quality issues or concerns
- Team Leadership and Development
- Provide guidance, training, and coaching to our kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education and Experience
- Associate degree or 3-5 years of progressive professional cooking experience
- 2 years of management or supervisory experience in a culinary setting
- Certifications and Skills
- SERV Safe certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
