Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a motivated Facilities Operations Specialist. This role is essential in maintaining high-quality environments for our Head Start classrooms and overall facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and relevant regulations while providing custodial services.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance and repair needs, responding promptly and effectively.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks, including construction and technology-related duties, utilizing resources efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness across all assigned facilities, including thorough cleaning of common areas, restrooms, and floors.
- Complete routine maintenance and minor repairs as requested, ensuring all heating and ventilation systems are functioning properly.
Additional Duties:
- Assist in the remodeling and refurbishing of office spaces and classrooms, which may involve minor carpentry, painting, and refinishing tasks.
- Conduct minor plumbing and electrical repairs as needed.
- Oversee the upkeep of outdoor areas, ensuring they are safe and free from hazards, trash, and debris.
- Facilitate the movement of office furniture and equipment to support organizational changes and program expansion.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; AA/AS degree preferred.
- Experience in general repair, carpentry, facilities maintenance, plumbing, electrical work, and painting.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with appropriate insurance coverage.
- Capability to lift and move heavy objects or children weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Proficient in computer skills, including email and word processing.
