Job Overview

Position: Registered Nurse (PRTF) - Full Time and Part Time

Summary:
The Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in the administration and oversight of medication distribution while actively engaging in the care plan for clients within the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) program. This position requires a responsive approach to the health needs of clients, ensuring timely referrals and assessments as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Administer and oversee medication delivery to clients in specified PRTF units.
  2. Engage in the execution of treatment plans tailored to clients in designated PRTF units.
  3. Conduct rounds in assigned units to address all clients' healthcare needs, performing medical procedures such as wound care when required.
  4. Carry out physical health assessments and document critical findings in client records.
  5. Facilitate referrals to pediatricians following client screenings.
  6. Assist in nursing functions related to client admissions and ongoing treatment, including medical case management and health screenings.
  7. Educate clients and staff on healthcare topics and medication management.
  8. Utilize a time log system to accurately document billable hours of direct care.
  9. Orient and train new staff on established policies and procedures.
  10. Participate in client staffing and treatment team meetings as necessary.
  11. Support and train Monarch PRTF staff in making informed decisions regarding client healthcare needs.
  12. Document and verify orders against the Medical Administration Record (MAR) as required.
  13. Conduct daily narcotic counts and sign audit sheets for controlled substances.
  14. Manage the ordering, receiving, and distribution of routine and Leave of Absence (LOA) medications.
  15. Process returns and credits for medications when applicable.
  16. Request lab results as needed and follow up on external medical appointments, contacting physicians with abnormal results or emergencies.
  17. Assist with the daily operations of the PRTF.
  18. Engage in Quality Improvement initiatives as necessary.
  19. Contribute to the clinical record's development and maintenance through timely documentation completion in line with licensing and accreditation standards.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision sessions, and ongoing training.
  2. Maintain current certifications, trainings, and licensure as per applicable regulations and standards.
  3. Uphold client privacy and confidentiality regarding all information obtained during treatment, handling client-related documents according to agency guidelines.
  4. Exhibit high standards of ethical and professional conduct, adhering to agency policies and procedures.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  1. Education: Minimum of an Associate's degree from an accredited nursing program required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  2. Licensure: Valid Ohio Registered Nurse license required.
  3. Skills: Ability to execute job responsibilities with initiative and independent judgment.
