Job Summary:

We are seeking highly motivated and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our team at Central Regional Hospital. As a Registered Nurse in our Screening and Admissions Unit, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient processing of patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide psychiatric mental-health care and direct supervision to other licensed and non-licensed staff.
  • Assess and treat actual or potential mental and medical conditions.
  • Rotate the charge nurse role and delegate tasks and responsibilities to other staff members.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to coordinate patient care and education.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
  • Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team with social work, psychiatrists, and medical doctors.
  • Ability to de-escalate angry and aggressive patients through therapeutic communication.
  • Ability to identify and implement psychiatric and nursing interventions.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, including every other weekend and alternating holidays. The salary is competitive, with shift differentials for weekend hours. The Registered Nurse position is mandatory during adverse weather events.
