We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic MRI Technologist to join our team on a travel assignment in Staten Island, New York.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. They will work under the direction of the Chief of Radiology and the Imaging Services Director, with latitude for independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
Responsibilities:- Perform patient studies according to set protocol, including placing specified coil close to the area of interest.
- Operate imaging and other equipment devices to provide quality diagnostic services.
- Interview patients to explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures and address their concerns.
- Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocol, requesting removal of hazardous metal objects, and monitoring patients via closed circuit TV.
- Orient new hires and train MRI Technologists, students, and trainees.
- Two years of regular (twenty hours or more per week) continuous recent experience as a MRI Technologist.
- License in the required state.
- BLS.
- Must be fully proficient in MRI and have knowledge of the required protocols in performing complex MRI procedures.
- Effective oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other incumbents of the organization.
- Ability to learn applications relevant to the position.
