Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the State of Idaho as an HVAC Inspector. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring public safety and consumer protection through the inspection and enforcement of HVAC-related codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of HVAC systems to ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to building officials, contractors, and the public on HVAC-related matters.
  • Investigate complaints and conduct on-site inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards.
  • Prepare and assemble documentation related to non-compliance activities, code violations, and safety reviews.
  • Collaborate with management and legal staff to address violations and provide testimony in court or administrative hearings.
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Certification as both a commercial and residential mechanical inspector in accordance with Idaho Code (or ability to obtain within six months of hire).
  • Good knowledge of NFPA 58 Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code, HVAC installations in accordance with Title 54, Chapter 50 Idaho Code, International Residential Code Parts V and VI, International Fuel Gas Code, and the International Mechanical Code.
