Unit Coordinator, MICU A, 32 Hours

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Coordinator to join our team at Boston Medical Center. As a Unit Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our MICU A unit, providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clerical support to the nursing team, including answering phones, responding to patient requests, and maintaining accurate records.
- Coordinate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring timely and efficient processing of patient information.
- Manage patient belongings, including labeling and storing personal items, and ensuring accurate tracking of patient property.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory of office materials.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure accurate and timely communication of patient information, including test results, medication lists, and other critical data.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to the development of solutions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to hospital standards for infection control and safety.
- High school education or equivalent required; previous clerical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hospital-wide systems, including SEM, IDX, and SDK.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Physical ability to meet core job requirements, including standing, walking, and lifting.
