Job Title: Critical Care Nurse
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Nurse to join our team at Alto Health Care Staffing. As a Critical Care Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Responsibilities:
* Perform thorough and ongoing assessments of patients' conditions, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assessing the need for interventions.
* Provide specialized care to critically ill patients, including those with complex medical conditions, post-surgical recovery, and trauma-related injuries.
* Monitor and manage patients on mechanical ventilation, ensuring proper settings and patient comfort.
* Administer medications, fluids, and blood products as prescribed, and monitor patient responses while maintaining accurate records.
* Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
* Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies, including code blue situations, and provide immediate life-saving interventions.
* Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
* Competently operate and troubleshoot complex medical equipment used in the ICU.
* Strictly adhere to infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
* Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, including assessments, interventions, and progress notes.
* Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
* Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
* BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Additional certifications such as CCRN or TNCC are a plus.
* Previous ICU nursing experience is preferred, but new graduates with a strong interest in critical care may be considered.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions in high-pressure situations.

36 hrs
12 hr days, 7a-7:30p
AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, & AHA PALS required
Active NY license
1 yr of ICU experience required but willing to look at someone with very strong Stepdown experience
