Job Summary:

The Bindery Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting operators with efficient machine operation by managing the flow of materials onto and off binding lines. This position also involves supporting the mailing process and assisting in all hand-related operations within the Finishing Department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the flow of materials onto and off binding lines to ensure efficient machine operation.
  • Support the mailing process by preparing and processing mail items.
  • Assist in all hand-related operations within the Finishing Department, including binding, folding, and trimming.
  • Work collaboratively with operators to resolve any issues or concerns related to machine operation or material flow.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the smooth operation of the Finishing Department.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a High School diploma or GED/HiSET is required.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with team members.
  • Ability to perform work productively and safely, with a focus on maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Reliable attendance and a willingness to work mandatory overtime as needed are essential.
  • Must possess the ability to work at a rapid pace and lift, carry, push, and pull up to a maximum of 50 lbs frequently.
  • Continuous standing, frequent walking & stooping, occasional sitting, crouching, and reaching/working overhead are required.
  • Good visual acuity and manual dexterity are necessary for performing tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Must wear hearing protection and safety shoes at all times while on the job.
