Educational and Experience Prerequisites

A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. A minimum of four (4) years of experience in the avionics or electrical field is required, or alternatively, two (2) years of accredited education in aviation electronics along with two (2) years of relevant experience. An A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license is preferred, along with other certifications such as FCC and NCATT. Position Objective: Provides specialized knowledge in evaluating aircraft systems, diagnosing issues, and rectifying discrepancies to minimize schedule disruptions. Exhibits technical proficiency by implementing procedural modifications aimed at cost reduction while maintaining safety and quality standards. May serve as a substitute for the Senior Avionics/Electrical Technician, ensuring that the company's safety and quality objectives are upheld while adhering to daily operational plans to meet scheduling demands.

Job Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
  1. Exhibits technical capabilities and knowledge in avionics and aircraft systems testing and troubleshooting.
  2. Conducts the installation and functional testing of electrical and avionics components and systems on aircraft in accordance with engineering specifications, schematics, and maintenance documentation to ensure a flawless system.
  3. Guarantees the quality and efficiency of all installations: troubleshoots procedures and concepts to deliver prompt, high-quality repairs of malfunctioning systems.
  4. Demonstrates the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively and efficiently repair or replace defective components and wiring, ensuring that installations comply with standards. Employs effective repair methods including splicing, soldering, and pinning of wiring.
  5. Executes and adheres to engineering modifications and changes as necessary.
  6. Prepares and operates essential testing equipment. Conducts functional and operational assessments to gauge performance and reliability.
  7. Ensures that all tasks performed on the aircraft are thoroughly documented and prepared for inspection.
  8. Tests and maintains testing equipment, electronic systems, and components.
  9. Adheres to the company's FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program, and all safety regulations.
  10. Adapts to unexpected schedule alterations.
Additional Functions:
  1. In support of aircraft certification and final phase evaluations, may include flight tests on aircraft as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements:
  1. Preferred proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of additional aircraft systems or disciplines beyond avionics, such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls, or structural installations and repairs.
  2. Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  3. Demonstrates excellent communication skills, capable of effective verbal and written communication.
  4. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds.
