Job Summary

The Legal Counsel will provide critical support to the General Counsel/Chief Operating Officer in ensuring the company's compliance with various laws, regulations, and contractual requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of employment law and government compliance requirements, as well as experience in contract preparation and negotiation techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure company compliance with laws, regulations, and contractual requirements
  • Assist the General Counsel/Chief Operating Officer in providing guidance and oversight of the Legal, Human Resources, Contract Administration, and Compliance departments
  • Draft and negotiate contracts, including nondisclosure agreements, subcontract agreements, and Master Services Agreements
  • Assist the Human Resources department with employment law matters
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Strong understanding of employment law and government compliance requirements
  • Strong background in contract preparation and negotiation techniques
  • Experience in a legal role at a company
  • Juris Doctorate Degree
  • Proven contracts, compliance, and employment law experience in a business environment
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR certification preferred
  • NCMA Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM), Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM), or Certified Commercial Contract Manager (CCCM) certification preferred

  • Strong ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
  • Highly efficient time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Proven ability to investigate and research
