This position involves performing routine cleaning duties in public and municipal buildings and facilities. The incumbent may also perform minor maintenance tasks or assist skilled employees in the repair and maintenance of building equipment and furniture. Work is generally performed according to prescribed schedules and procedures under the general supervision of a higher-level maintenance supervisor or agency administrator. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning floors, surfaces, and fixtures using appropriate techniques and equipment;
  • Performing specialized cleaning tasks based on the district's requirements;
  • Managing supplies such as toilet paper and soap;
  • Removing trash and recyclables from buildings and grounds;
  • Clearing snow and ice and applying salt or sand for safe passage;
  • Completing odd jobs such as delivering messages, repairing equipment, or directing visitors.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with cleaning methods, tools, and materials used in building maintenance;
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues and follow instructions;
  • Attention to detail and physical stamina to perform job duties;
  • Thoroughness and ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.

The annual salary for this role is estimated at around $45,000-$55,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
