We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Records Technician to join our team at the Snoqualmie Tribe. As a key member of our Health and Wellness division, you will be responsible for providing exceptional health record support to our providers, staff, and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the receipt, intake, organization, maintenance, and transfer of health and administrative information related to client medical records.
- Capture clinical and administrative information in a timely manner using the latest technology, including scanning insurance cards and attaching them to the medical record.
- Transfer health and other related records to the VISTA Imaging system, ensuring the integration of clinical documentation, images, and other scanned documents into the client's electronic medical record.
- Monitor the timeliness and accuracy of data transferred and ensure that all necessary health and administrative information is integrated into the client's electronic health record.
- Assist with the conversion of paper health records to electronic format, working cooperatively with Health and Wellness Managers to ensure accuracy and organization.
- Prioritize work to ensure completion and accuracy of scanning and records conversion within specified timeframes.
- Ensure all hard copies of client health and other related records are archived and/or stored according to the Tribe's records retention policy and applicable laws, including HIPAA.
- Follow up on and/or provide copies of medical records requested from clients and Tribal Members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA.
- Computer proficiency, including knowledge of Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across a wide range of audiences.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload and complete deliverables accurately by deadlines.
- Ability to operate computer, computer software, and programs, scanners, copier, email, instant messenger, fax, and phone.
- Maintain confidentiality and communicate with tact and discretion.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; medical terminology coursework or equivalent experience required.
- Associate of Arts degree in Health Information Management or related degree preferred.
- A minimum of one year's prior medical record experience, including use of the Resource Patient Management System (RPMS) electronic health record.
- Prior documentation requirements, functions, and procedure experience in a Behavioral Health and Purchased/Referred Care records setting.
- Competitive hourly compensation, starting at $22.09 per hour.
- Regular full-time position, with employment at will.
- First of the month following date of hire - competitive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance benefits.
- After 90 days - 401k retirement plan with employer matching contributions up to 4%.
- Paid Holidays - Up to 18 paid holidays offered every calendar year.
- Paid Time Off - Employees accrue 12+ days sick and vacation leave respectively.
