Nurse Manager

Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to lead our nursing team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for providing and leading nursing best practices under the medical direction of our Medical Director and reporting to our Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in conjunction with providers.
- Plan and implement overall nursing policies, procedures, and services.
- Maintain a full complement of nursing staff through recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training clinical nurse volunteers in conjunction with operational leadership.
- Guide and direct the work of nurse volunteers and the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA); provide clinical expertise to nurse volunteers, CMA, and Patient Assistant Program (PAP) staff in the management of medical and psychiatric cases based on clinical care best practices.
- Ensure adherence to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and with other governing agency regulations; measure health outcomes against standards; make or recommend adjustments.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations; call for assistance from other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Protect patients, employees, and volunteers by developing and interpreting infection-control policies and protocols; enforce medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by monitoring confidential information and abiding by HIPAA.
- Possess exceptional patient/family interpersonal skills and foster positive physician relationships.
- Serve as a staff role model by providing leadership and encouraging/modeling team-building, professional communication, and a positive attitude toward change.
Requirements:
- Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of South Carolina.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; current BLS certification.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in an outpatient clinical setting and at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Technology: Must have experience with electronic medical record system(s) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have strong communication skills and the ability to analyze and interpret data; strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a clinical environment.
Preferred:
- Fluency in Spanish preferred.
