Cardiac Device Specialist

We're a leading innovator in cardiac rhythm management, offering real-time 3D cardiac mapping and navigation technology. Our CARTO 3 System revolutionized 3D mapping technology, increasing accuracy, speed, and efficiency of cardiac ablation procedures. We're currently seeking a Senior R&D Engineer to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of new products, supporting design, documentation, and testing of tools, fixtures, and machines. They will be responsible for:
- Supporting component design while ensuring all requirements are met.
- Developing and executing test methods, procedures, and reports.
- Implementing complex design concepts into working drawings and prototypes.
- Studying specifications, blueprints, and shop data to resolve design problems.
- Designing and detailing machines, tools, and fixtures.
- Inspecting components after fabrication to ensure they meet end specifications.
- Interfacing with external vendors and internal team members.
- Prototyping designs and performing feasibility assessments.
- Conducting complex assignments requiring new or improved techniques.
- Ensuring personal and company compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- B.S. in Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent with industry experience.
- CAD software experience (Solidworks, Creo, or similar) required.
- Collaborative teammate with strong communication skills.
- Ability to come up with creative solutions to solve technical issues.
- General understanding of concept development, 3D modeling, manufacturing methods, and rapid prototyping.
- Ability to work with outside vendors and travel up to 20% may be required.
Preferred Skills
- M.S. in Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Able to write and communicate clearly.
- General understanding of test method development, equipment setup, and validation.
- Prior experience with inspection of components.
- Medical Device experience with 4 years of experience.
- Structural heart experience highly preferred.
- Experience with nitinol related devices.
- Knowledge and experience in product development processes.
- Experience with statistical analysis.
The estimated salary for this role is $88,000-$141,450. Johnson & Johnson offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
