Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at United Medical Center. As a Medical/Surgeon Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Perform focused interviews to identify specific patient needs and assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data and information from healthcare members and document actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses.
  • Develop and implement patient plans of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions.
  • Monitor consistency between patient plans of care and actions of medical staff, and revise plans as necessary.
  • Provide a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment, and initiate and evaluate patient and/or family education.
  • Participate in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with the chosen facility, and monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
Requirements
  • At least one year of Medical/Surgical experience.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited school of nursing; BSN degree preferred.
  • Current D.C. licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Evidence of successful basic 12 lead EKG Interpretation class or successful completion of class within 90 days of hire.
