We are seeking a highly skilled PACU Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in various locations. Responsibilities- Consults and coordinates with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Conducts pre- and post-operative education to ensure patients and their families are well-informed.
- Serves as a communication liaison to family and members of the operating team, providing timely updates and information.
- Takes and monitors patients' vital signs, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Provides basic, bedside care, including preparing and administering medications as prescribed.
- Communicates relevant information to physicians, facility managers, and appropriate staff, ensuring seamless care coordination.
- Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with our policy.
- Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol.
- Records all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
- Preps operating rooms for patients and procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
- Initiates corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
- Monitors patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout the continuum of patient care.
- Initiates patient education plans, as prescribed by physicians, to ensure patients and their families are well-informed.
- Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their post-treatment home care needs, self-administration of medication, and rehabilitation.
- Assists in positioning, responding to comfort and safety of patients.
- Observes and enforces strict standards of asepsis, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current nursing license, in good standing with the State licensing board.
- Minimum of one (1) year post-recovery/PACU or pre-op experience.
- Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) with current BLS/BCLS certification.
- Successful completion of ACLS with current ACLS certification.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Travel Nurse or in a similar position is preferred.
- Orthopedic experience a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Compassionate and empathetic.
- Flexible scheduling.
