We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN to join our team at Thomas Health - Thomas Memorial Hospital. This role focuses on providing exceptional care in a dynamic environment.
Certification Requirements- Mandatory Certifications: BLS, ACLS
- Unit: 3 Pavilion / 3 T - Pulmonary & Observation
- Experience Required: Proficiency in Med-Surg, Telemetry, Critical Drips, and Trach Care is essential. Experience in Peritoneal Dialysis is preferred. Candidates with a strong cardiac background are encouraged to apply.
- Patient Demographics: Focus on adult and geriatric populations with respiratory diagnoses and medical conditions. Trach care is required, but patients are not on ventilators.
- Charge Nurse Responsibilities: May serve as Charge Nurse with a modified patient assignment, typically managing two patients. Opportunities for cross-training and additional responsibilities may be available.
- Floating Requirements: Flexibility to float to other units or the Emergency Department as needed.
- Orientation: Comprehensive orientation including general hospital and nursing-specific training, along with hands-on shifts with a preceptor.
- Experience: Med-Surg, Telemetry, Critical Drips, and Trach Care are mandatory. Peritoneal Dialysis experience is a plus.
- Drip Titration: RNs are required to titrate drips.
- Nurse Aide Support: Yes, with ratios of 1:10 during the day and 1:15 at night.
- Equipment Utilization: Familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow O2, and other respiratory equipment is necessary.
- Shifts: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM or 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, with scheduling managed by the Director/Floor Manager.
- Weekend Commitment: Every other weekend with a set rotation.
- Holiday Schedule: Rotation with core staff, with consideration for previous holiday worked.
- Bed Capacity: 32 beds
- Nurse/Patient Ratio: 1:06
- Monitoring Staff: Monitor Techs available 24/7; RNs are responsible for reviewing strips each shift.
- Dress Code: Solid color scrubs required, with specific colors designated for different roles.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS are required.
