Document Control Specialist

This is a project-based position responsible for the orderly recording and keeping of physical and electronic documents associated with assigned projects. The successful candidate will conduct all Company business in accordance with Company policies and procedures and maintain professionalism throughout all business dealings, both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
The Document Control Clerk will be responsible for:
- Coordinating with all departments of the Company to ensure that all documents are kept in the right place and in the right department file archive.
- Ensuring that all corporate documents are thoroughly checked and submitted on time prior to the document's submission due date.
- Performing regular audits on corporate documents to ensure that all documents are properly submitted to other documents.
- Validating and controlling files.
- Ensuring that all documents are checked and approved before submission.
- Evaluating and auditing documents.
- Following the company's standard operating procedures in the submission of documents.
- Submitting corporate documents punctually and with quality.
- Ensuring that all documents have no errors in file names, submissions, etc. before submitting.
- Preparing all documents and communications with other departments to make submissions early.
- Maintaining poise and focus under time constraints and adverse conditions.
- Attending and completing trainings as required by the Company.
- Passing all required drug/alcohol testing and background checks as required.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment. May be required to operate in a petrochemical/refinery environment with exposure to cold working conditions during winter months and hot working conditions during the summer months; exposure to noise, workers must wear protecting hearing equipment or frequently shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level. In an emergency situation, exposure to hazardous chemicals may occur and the use of a respirator is required. May be required to be fit tested for the various respirators used as well as the ability to successfully pass a pulmonary function test (PFT).

While performing the duties of the job, a Document Control Clerk is occasionally required to bend, stoop, walk, climb, squat, reach, kneel, push/pull, stand, sit, and lift up to 20 pounds.
Travel
Travel is expected. Extensive travel throughout the U.S. and overnight stays for extended periods of time.
