Culinary Specialist

Shelter House, a leading organization in addressing homelessness and domestic violence, seeks a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team. Located in Fairfax County, VA, this role offers a competitive salary of $20 per hour.

As a Culinary Specialist, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe operation of our commercial kitchen, preparing and serving meals for up to 100 residents daily. Your expertise in food preparation and presentation will ensure that our clients receive nutritious and well-balanced meals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve meals according to federal and state nutritional guidelines.
• Ensure adequate stocking of essential food items and maintain inventory within established budgets.
• Clean kitchen and equipment regularly to maintain sanitary food preparation conditions.
• Maintain current knowledge of emergency safety procedures and guidelines for kitchen and shelter operations.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience cooking in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment.
