Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team on a PRN basis. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dispense medications and other pharmaceutical preparations as ordered by physicians
  • Provide pharmaceutical consultation to doctors and nurses
  • Assist with IV admixture program and ensure accuracy and completeness of orders
  • Participate in pharmacy quality assurance and floor inspection reports
  • Collaborate with sales representatives and vendors to ensure optimal pharmacy operations
Requirements
  • Current license to practice pharmacy in West Virginia (or appropriate state licensure where services will be provided) or be license eligible
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy, either through internship or as a registered pharmacist
Preferred Qualifications
  • Computer experience and proficiency in pharmacy software
  • Knowledge of pain management and total patient care
Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds and push 50 pounds
  • Dexterity required for finger, hand, and reach movements
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of growth and development
  • Understanding of patient needs and scope of treatment
  • Understanding of biophysical, bio-psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, spiritual, cultural, ethical, and discharge planning needs
  • Knowledge of pain management and total patient care
