Position Overview:
As the Real Estate Appraisal Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the appraisal and evaluation processes within the commercial banking sector, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies. Your role will involve supporting the Credit Underwriting Director by supervising appraisal review operations and leading the appraisal review team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the real estate appraisal and evaluation processes, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
- Review and update appraisal policies as necessary to align with current regulations.
- Maintain an up-to-date list of approved appraisers and monitor compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with appraisers to ensure timely and high-quality appraisal reports for various property types.
- Oversee the management of the Bank's appraisal platform, working closely with vendors for necessary updates.
- Provide appraisal-related services, including communication with Bank personnel regarding real estate evaluations.
- Conduct all functions related to the appraisal management platform, including preparing requests for proposals and soliciting bids.
- Compile and prepare regulatory reports for audits.
- Deliver presentations on real estate and appraisal matters to management.
- Stay informed on changes in real estate appraisal regulations and pursue ongoing education.
- Foster and maintain professional relationships with other appraisal experts.
- Lead and mentor team members within the Appraisal Review team.
- Engage in continuous professional development and team training.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
- Valid Washington State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser License.
- A minimum of three years of experience in appraising or reviewing commercial real estate appraisals.
- Professional designation from a recognized appraisal organization is preferred.
- Management experience of at least two years is advantageous.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state regulations and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and banking software.
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Ability to maintain high-quality control standards across all appraisal functions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
- Willingness to travel as necessary for meetings and training.
