Role Purpose: The School Psychologist plays a critical role in assessing and interpreting the cognitive, adaptive, academic, social, and emotional development of students. This position involves analyzing psychological assessments, applying relevant state and federal regulations, and formulating strategies and interventions to meet the special educational needs of eligible students.
Classification: Foundations Educational Services
Employment Status: Exempt
Salary Range: $82,000- $86,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with parents, educators, administrators, and relevant agencies to design educational and therapeutic programs.
- Advise on suitable educational and psychological interventions through the administration of psychological assessments.
- Analyze and interpret assessment results concerning students' cognitive, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development, and their implications for instructional strategies.
- Draft comprehensive assessment reports for each student evaluated.
- Contribute to IEP teams and participate in IEP evaluations.
- Conduct necessary re-evaluations for Special Education students.
- Assist in developing school initiatives that promote positive mental health and conducive learning environments.
- Initiate referrals to Mental Health Services as required.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of specific educational program phases.
- Serve as a resource in areas such as guidance, curriculum development, child development, and assessment methodologies.
- Collaborate in planning the master schedule for the special education program.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Master's Degree.
- Arizona Credential authorizing the provision of psychological services.
- Administrative Services Credential (Preferred).
- ADE School Psychologist Certification.
- Graduate degree from a NASP-Approved institution.
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Card.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes.
- Frequent activities include reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying, and lifting 50 or more lbs.
- Must possess normal vision and hearing capabilities, with or without correction.
- Noise levels may range from moderate to high.
