Job Summary

This role involves performing basic repairs of small engine power equipment such as chainsaws, agricultural and outdoor power equipment under the direction of a Service Manager or senior technician.

To be successful in this position, one must develop skills in removal, disassembly, and reconditioning of components, and have a fundamental knowledge of engines, hydraulics, power-trans, air-conditioning, and electrical systems as they apply to machines marketed by Goldman Equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance checks servicing fuel, power train, electrical & hydraulic systems to ensure peak performance, safety, and longevity of the equipment.
  • Participate in Service EDUCATE training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge of Deere products.
  • Assist senior technicians as needed, and maintain the condition of service vehicles, trailers, tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform job tasks in a neat and orderly fashion, following all safety rules and procedures and participating in safety meetings and training.
Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, good Math skills, and secondary education or training in heavy equipment mechanics that includes electronics and hydraulics.

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience repairing agricultural equipment/outdoor power equipment, John Deere specifics, is preferred.
  • Experience in simple welds, welding techniques, and standard computer software, internet is also beneficial.
Additional Requirements:
  • Prompt and regular attendance are essential, along with a valid drivers license and ability to work weekends during busy seasons.
  • Able to display positive energy, be a team player, and have strong customer orientation.

The estimated salary range for this position is $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
