Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor staff accountants and interns to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Review designated work for accuracy and completeness, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  • Operate independently to manage multiple projects, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of accounting and tax principles, staying up-to-date with changes in the professional environment.
  • Handle the majority of designated client engagements, both accounting and tax, and prepare and review accounting and tax engagements.
  • Maintain client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty while meeting deadlines.
  • Research tax and accounting issues and draft memorandums, identifying opportunities to expand engagements.
  • Draft bills promptly and be accountable to the Firm's Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
  • Develop team members' technical and professional skills, providing regular performance feedback and evaluations.
  • Delegate assignments and focus on appropriate level work, demonstrating initiative, vision, resourcefulness, creativity, independent thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Contribute to the development of new or improved accounting and/or tax processes and procedures, upholding the Firm's core values and maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and team discussions.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in accounting preferred; CPA a plus; advanced degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting and tax experience in public accounting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Aptitude for meeting deadlines and effectively managing workload under pressure.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, tax compliance and research software, fixed assets, QuickBooks, and trial balance systems.
