Job Summary

The Delivery Driver Manager is a key leadership role at Dead River Company, responsible for overseeing the delivery fleet and ensuring a safe and exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage delivery service operations across three locations, hiring and scheduling a productive workforce of drivers.
  2. Set standards for drivers in building customer relationships, supporting customer growth and retention goals, and maintaining a positive corporate image.
  3. Hold weekly driver huddles to communicate successes, metrics, and delivery standards.
  4. Evaluate and discuss performance with employees using the Performance Scorecard.
  5. Schedule repairs, maintenance, licensing, and inspections of delivery vehicles.
  6. Maintain driver files and vehicle maintenance files according to federal and state regulations and company policy.
  7. Coordinate trucks and drivers needed to meet customer demand based on daily forecast.
  8. Participate in driver training and ensure all drivers are trained in the safe handling and delivery of petroleum products.
  9. Emphasize safety by conducting safety meetings, investigating accidents, spills, and injuries, and staying up-to-date on applicable federal and state laws and company safety policies.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years management experience is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Assertiveness and leadership skills.
  • Delegation and follow-up skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A Class B Commercial Drivers License with hazardous materials endorsement is preferred.
Work Environment

The majority of time is spent in a fast-paced office environment. During emergency or unusual situations, this position makes petroleum deliveries.
