The Delivery Driver Manager is a key leadership role at Dead River Company, responsible for overseeing the delivery fleet and ensuring a safe and exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities- Manage delivery service operations across three locations, hiring and scheduling a productive workforce of drivers.
- Set standards for drivers in building customer relationships, supporting customer growth and retention goals, and maintaining a positive corporate image.
- Hold weekly driver huddles to communicate successes, metrics, and delivery standards.
- Evaluate and discuss performance with employees using the Performance Scorecard.
- Schedule repairs, maintenance, licensing, and inspections of delivery vehicles.
- Maintain driver files and vehicle maintenance files according to federal and state regulations and company policy.
- Coordinate trucks and drivers needed to meet customer demand based on daily forecast.
- Participate in driver training and ensure all drivers are trained in the safe handling and delivery of petroleum products.
- Emphasize safety by conducting safety meetings, investigating accidents, spills, and injuries, and staying up-to-date on applicable federal and state laws and company safety policies.
- A minimum of 3 years management experience is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Assertiveness and leadership skills.
- Delegation and follow-up skills.
- Organizational skills.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A Class B Commercial Drivers License with hazardous materials endorsement is preferred.
The majority of time is spent in a fast-paced office environment. During emergency or unusual situations, this position makes petroleum deliveries.
