Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical Oncology team at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and support to patients with cancer and their families.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on cancer treatment options and side effects.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
