Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Bilingual NICU Physician Liaison to join our team at Fairfax Neonatal Associates. As a key member of our staff, you will serve as a bridge between our care providers and the families of NICU patients, ensuring seamless communication and exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support our providers in resolving concerns and issues that may impact the families' experience or the efficient flow of care.
  • Meet with identified families at intervals, documenting encounters and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Interpret and provide education on FNA and hospital procedures and services to patients, their families, and visitors.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, care conferences, family meetings, and throughput meetings to discuss specific patients and family needs.
  • Monitor patients nearing discharge and assess patients and families for post-discharge needs, informing families on discharge planning and preparation.
  • Act as an intermediary between FNA providers, business office, and hospital staff, collaborating to ensure effective resolutions.
  • Direct inquiries and complaints to the appropriate personnel, following up on referred complaints to ensure resolution.
  • Complete discharge phone calls in collaboration with hospital staff, evaluating patient satisfaction and making suggestions for changes or improvements.
Requirements
  • Active Virginia licensure as a registered nurse.
  • Minimum five years of experience working in a NICU.
  • Fluent in Spanish, including medical interpreter training.
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs, use telephone equipment, and perform manual dexterity tasks.
