Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering safe and effective patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves providing direct patient care within the defined scope of practice. The Registered Nurse will also oversee and guide patient and family education, as well as the activities of other nursing staff, while upholding care standards in the Birthplace. The nurse must be adept at responding promptly and accurately to changes in patient conditions and treatment responses. Ensuring a safe environment for patients and visitors is paramount. The nurse will utilize the chain of command as necessary to safeguard patient welfare and ensure appropriate care for mothers and newborns during both antepartum and postpartum phases.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
  • Current and valid state RN license
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained
  • NRP certification required within 90 days of hire and must be maintained
  • Basic Fetal Monitoring certification required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained
