Grant Writer

The Grant Writer will play a critical role in advancing OIC of Washington's mission by identifying grant opportunities, preparing and submitting grant proposals, implementing grants, generating grant reports, and assisting in grant management requirements.

• Articulate OIC of Washington's mission to staff and clients and demonstrate a commitment to these missions.
• Research and identify grant opportunities from government entities, foundations, and other grant-giving organizations that match the organization's objectives.
• Develop and submit compelling and high-quality grant proposals and project proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documents, in accordance with each grant maker's or partner's preferences.
• Work closely with finance, program departments, and external partners to gather necessary information for both grant reporting and proposal development.
• Collaborate with Directors, Chief of Programs, and Senior Directors to ensure departmental growth by identifying and writing grant applications.
• Ensure personal accountability for meeting grant funding deadlines.
• Coordinate grant administration work with directors to support grant reporting and compliance.
• Update and maintain the grants and contracts calendar.

• AA and/or BA Degrees in Social Services, Journalism, Creative Writing, or a related field.
• At least two years of experience in grant writing, proposal/application development, and project management experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive, and concise proposals and reports.
• Strong research and analytical skills to identify funding opportunities and understand community needs.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
