Job Summary

The Chief Financial Officer for Saint Luke's Hospital of Duluth provides administrative oversight for all finance-related functions, providing financial expertise and support. This role involves developing and administering policies and procedures related to accounting practices, planning, directing, controlling, and maintaining all fiscal financial and reporting activities. The CFO will oversee the development of budgets and forecasts, develop and implement decision support functions, and act as a financial liaison. Additionally, the CFO will ensure compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Three years of related work experience, including supervisory experience in a hospital or healthcare-related organization, or equivalent experience.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Experience: Five years of experience as a Controller in a healthcare service organization, or two years of experience as a Chief Financial Officer in a healthcare service organization, or equivalent experience.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certified Public Accountant
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting theory and principles, as well as administration, supervision, and management practices.
  • Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinates, prioritize work responsibilities, and establish and maintain good working relationships with staff and assigned employees.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints, and write speeches and articles for publication.
  • Ability to present information effectively to groups of managers, top management, public groups, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply advanced mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Physical Demands and Environment
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry boxes and printouts weighing up to 25 pounds, stand occasionally, walk occasionally, sit continuously, use hands to finger, handle, or feel continuously, reach with hands and arms occasionally, stoop, squat, kneel, or crouch occasionally, and bend-repetitive forward occasionally.
  • Lifting Requirements: Up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 25 pounds occasionally.
