Title: MOW Operations Superintendent
POSITION SUMMARY:
The MOW Operations Superintendent is accountable for the management and supervision of all facets of the rail infrastructure. This includes budget formulation and compliance, maintenance of facilities, railroad tracks, switches, project oversight, and comprehensive grant management. The Superintendent is expected to assess, recommend, and execute infrastructure enhancements and processes to optimize operational efficiency. Participation in business planning processes that align with customer satisfaction and corporate objectives is essential. Additionally, the Superintendent is responsible for training and developing team members to ensure adherence to all relevant safety regulations, including 49 CFR Part 213, Part 214, and Part 237. Upholding the core values of TNW Corporation is critical to fostering successful relationships with both customers and employees.
Reports to: Director of Operations & Infrastructure
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the performance of Engineering Managers and other personnel involved in track-related services.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules for railroad tracks, crossings, and switches.
- Manage budgetary allocations and ensure compliance.
- Implement disciplinary measures and recognition for team members.
- Assist in conducting FRA-mandated railroad track inspections and facilitate the rectification of any identified defects.
- Prepare daily reports and time sheets for the Engineering Department.
- Ensure all operational equipment is maintained in a safe and functional condition.
- Collaborate with contractors and oversee the purchase of necessary materials and tools.
- Develop cost estimates for track repairs.
- Promote safety and efficiency in all operations.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; a college degree or relevant field experience is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
Must possess a valid driver's license without restrictions.
Experience:
Required: Two-year Associate's Degree in a related field or five years of pertinent railroad experience. Demonstrated commitment to safety and knowledge of railroad track structures is essential.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required. Must be able to work irregular hours and in various weather conditions.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work may be conducted in both shop environments and open rail yards. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights of approximately 50 feet.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must comply with all safety procedures and be willing to undergo background checks and drug screenings.
