Job OverviewThe Radiology Technologist adheres to departmental protocols and ensures compliance with safety regulations, including life safety, fire, hazardous waste, Radiation Safety, and Infection Control standards. This role requires maintaining licensure, staying updated, and participating in departmental training programs. The technologist performs various procedures as needed, including Portables, E.R., Trauma, Fluoro OR, and General imaging. Demonstrating courteous behavior and a positive attitude through respectful communication with colleagues and guests is essential. Understanding the importance of providing excellent customer service, both internally and externally, is crucial.
The technologist is responsible for maintaining the work environment by reporting equipment maintenance issues, monitoring supplies, and managing paperwork specific to each department. Participation in clinical activities, such as assisting with patient flow and care, is expected to optimize patient throughput via the Radiology Ambassador team. Compliance with timekeeping regulations is mandatory, avoiding unauthorized entries. Attendance at over 80% of staff meetings is required to stay informed and support departmental initiatives.
Required ExperienceTraining in patient care and safe handling is mandatory. Experience in General, Portable, ED, Trauma, Fluoro, and pediatrics is preferred.
Educational QualificationsMust be a graduate of an AMA accredited Radiology Technologist Program and eligible for registry. A NJ DEP license is required upon hire.
Licensure and CertificationARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification is required. Current BLS certification is also necessary. A NJDEP license in Radiology Technology is mandatory.
