Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tier I Refrigeration and Utilities Technician to join our team at Jones Dairy Farm. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the service, repair, and preventative maintenance of our ammonia refrigeration system, boilers, wastewater treatment facility, compressed air, HVAC, and general facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ammonia Refrigeration System Maintenance: Operate, monitor, service, and repair equipment for steam, refrigeration, water, compressed air, and HVAC systems.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Make rounds and keep logs of daily operations and events for multiple engine rooms and refrigeration equipment. Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of ammonia refrigeration compressors, condensers, pumps, vessels/recirculators, purgers, evaporators/MAU's, heat exchangers, and control valves/isolation valves while using the Original Equipment Manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Steam Boilers and Wastewater Treatment Facility Maintenance: Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of steam boilers, wastewater treatment facility, hot water heaters, HVAC systems, and air compressors.
  • PSM Program Participation: Participate in the Process Safety Management (PSM) program.
  • Safety and Housekeeping: Promote safe working habits and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Logistics and Reporting: Log time and material usage into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for PMs and corrective maintenance.
Requirements
  • Mechanical Abilities: Demonstrates mechanical abilities and general knowledge of refrigeration, boiler systems, and wastewater systems.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 to 3 years' experience in Ammonia Refrigeration.
  • Certifications: RETA certification preferred; if not certified, it will be required that RETA certification CARO (Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator) is completed within 3 years of employment.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and P&ID's; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers at all levels; experience working with vendors and contractors; self-motivated.
