Job Summary

Cuyahoga Community College is seeking a highly motivated and organized Academic Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating activities related to academic advisement, placement testing/assessment, and academic support for our assigned programs and departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate instructional delivery systems and documentation procedures for participant attendance and academic progress.
  • Coordinate graduation ceremonies and assist in planning cultural/educational enrichment activities for participants.
  • Administer academic remedial courses and study skills workshops.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to the Director.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of participants.
  • Coordinate preparing and distributing progress reports.
  • Attend meetings, workshops, and conferences for professional development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (significant related experience may substitute for education).
  • Minimum of three years of demonstrated academic experience working directly with students from various social and economic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated experience with curriculum and instruction at the post-secondary level.
  • Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team.
  • Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem-solving methods in a variety of situations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of direct experience in a related program at a higher education institution.
  • Demonstrated experience with needs and academic assessments.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
Work Environment

The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.

Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.

This is a 100% grant-funded position.
