Position Summary:

The selected candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of safety programs aimed at promoting awareness and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role will involve collaboration with various manufacturing departments to maintain a secure and safe workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement comprehensive safety management systems, including training and monitoring protocols.
  • Oversee the maintenance of environmental permits, conduct regular inspections, and ensure adherence to compliance requirements.
  • Provide training to department leaders on EHS regulations and facilitate ongoing educational opportunities.
  • Manage regulatory submissions, lead incident investigations, and monitor corrective action implementations.
  • Coordinate emergency response efforts and ensure effective execution of response strategies.
  • Conduct audits to verify compliance with established policies and regulations.
  • Evaluate industrial hygiene requirements and perform necessary assessments.
  • Lead the safety committee, promote a safety observation culture, and manage the employee return-to-work program.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to interpret and apply OSHA and EPA regulations effectively.
  • Experience interacting with regulatory bodies, with knowledge in Industrial Hygiene and Radiation safety.
  • Familiarity with claims management and Workers Compensation Insurance processes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational capabilities.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety Management or Environmental Science.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in safety or environmental roles, ideally within the metals or heavy manufacturing sectors.
