Job Title: Radiology Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in Libertyville, Illinois.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Radiology Technologist to operate x-ray equipment, produce high-quality radiographs, and provide exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of radiologic technology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate x-ray equipment to produce high-quality radiographs of designated portions of the body.
  • Accountable for the performance and documentation of all diagnostic procedures, ensuring proper technical parameters and quality studies.
  • Knowledgeable in the safe use, maneuverability, and operation of general radiography, portable, and fluoro equipment.
  • Proficient in general diagnostic procedures, including general fluoroscopy procedures if applicable.
  • Adhere to infection prevention, isolation, and sterile techniques in patient handling and delivery of care.
  • Utilize proper patient identification to ensure the correct exam is performed on the correct patient at the correct time.
  • Obtain and record pertinent patient history, explain procedures to patients, and ensure patient comfort during exams.
  • Review radiographs to ensure optimum quality and report environmental/equipment problems to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform required computer functions for RIS/HIS systems and label radiographs appropriately.
  • Consistently maintain an attitude of professionalism, teamwork, and collaboration with co-workers, physicians, and internal customers/departments.
  • Provide positive interactions and a customer-first approach with patients and their families/caregivers and visitors.
  • Participate in assessment of own learning needs and actively seek opportunities for increased competency and growth.
  • Attend in-services to ensure knowledge of current departmental and technical procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate state license and national board certification.
  • Ensure cleanliness of equipment and work area, and maintain inventory of supplies in work area.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • IEMA Accreditation in Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT (RT) Certification or Certificate Eligible. For new graduates, ARRT must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
Working Conditions:

The Radiology Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment, rotating shifts, and may be exposed to radiation during procedures. The ability to work weekends and holidays, take call, and arrive on site within one hour is required. The position may also involve lifting and moving patients, and exposure to hazardous materials and infectious disease.
