Role Overview:
The Forging Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the fabrication of forged products by assisting skilled workers in various tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of each team member involved in the operation of forging equipment.
- Demonstrate the ability to interpret production documents, including shop travelers and operating procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of dies, operate furnace controls, and perform lubrication tasks as required.
- Acquire foundational knowledge of materials and forging techniques, ensuring safe operation of equipment.
- Set up and utilize impression stamps effectively.
- Keep the work area, machinery, and tools organized and clean.
Essential Skills:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Capable of performing basic mathematical calculations and interpreting data.
- Able to follow instructions accurately and address problems in standardized situations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience or training is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires regular standing, walking, and the use of hands for handling tools and equipment. The employee must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 35 pounds and possess specific vision capabilities.
Work Environment:
Employees may encounter exposure to vibrations, moving mechanical parts, and airborne particles, with occasional exposure to extreme heat and loud noise levels.
