Mechanical Drafter I

DuraServ Corp is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Drafter I to support our Proprietary Brands in the commercial door and dock manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities- Create detailed manufacturing drawings of assemblies and models, including GD&T and BOM information.
- Interpret 2D drawings and layouts for migration into a 3D environment.
- Communicate with customers and team members regarding project scope, change requests, and milestone completions.
- Track project progress using available sources to ensure project initiatives are met.
- Make decisions concerning personal time management and task prioritization to deliver quality service, on time and under budget.
- Plan mechanical drawings by reviewing sketches, descriptions, specifications, and supporting documents, and conferring with the sales team and customers.
- Apply lean thinking and a customer-centric approach with a process-driven mindset to deliver process improvements.
- Align to and support capital equipment programs for production and information systems, ensuring implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review and generate BOMs for existing and new products within the product portfolio.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to check manufacturing drawings to determine proper fit and function, correctness, and completeness of information.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, good reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Application of lean/continuous improvement tools & techniques in a low-volume, high-value production/manufacturing environment.
- Top-tier analytical skills and ability to translate data and trends into solutions.
- Superb verbal and written communication and presentation skills with a keen ability to coordinate and interact professionally with customers and stakeholders.

- Associate's degree in engineering or engineering technology preferred, Bachelor's degree in engineering desired.
- Minimum three (3) years experience in mechanical engineering utilizing one or more 3D CAD packages.
- At least 3 years experience in the manufacturing industry supporting engineering operations in a lean environment.
- ASQ certifications CQE, or CRE desired.
- GD&T experience is desired.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, advanced Excel skills desired.
