Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology Clinic

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center. As an Oncology Nurse Specialist, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care under general supervision to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.
  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments.
  • Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
  • Deliver patient care competently and interact with family and patient to share care plans while in the hospital and during discharge.
  • Inform patient and family of hospital procedures and make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Delegate tasks to support staff and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
  • Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
  • Basic computer skills.

Education: Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program. Preferred: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a Board Approved Program.

Language: English proficiency: Read, Write, Speak
