SAS Advocate

The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Sexual Assault Victim Advocate. As a key member of our crisis intervention team, you will provide emotional support and advocacy to survivors of sexual assault, helping them navigate the healing process and access necessary resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to survivors of sexual assault
• Advocate for survivors' rights and needs, connecting them with local resources and services
• Participate in performance quality improvement processes to enhance client services and outcomes
• Collaborate with law enforcement, medical staff, and other systems to ensure comprehensive support for survivors
• Develop and maintain knowledge of State of Florida laws and statutes affecting victims' rights

Requirements:

• 30-hour Advocacy Core Training through the Florida Council Against Sexual Violence
• Reliable transportation and a valid Florida Driver's license
• Background check

Working Conditions:

Duties are performed primarily in an office environment. Occasional travel may be required. Services are available 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.

This is a volunteer position, and the selected candidate will be required to commit to volunteering for four on-call shifts per month.
