Job Title: Registered Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental practice at Ladera Dentistry. As a vital member of our dental team, you will play a key role in providing exceptional oral healthcare services while ensuring a positive and comfortable experience for our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from patients' teeth.
  • Assess and document patients' oral health status, including gum condition, presence of cavities, and other oral diseases.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required by the dentist.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and nutrition, to promote optimal dental health.
  • Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures, such as preparing and maintaining dental instruments and materials.
  • Administer local anesthesia and/or nitrous oxide sedation when necessary, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes.
  • Assist in scheduling and managing appointments, ensuring efficient patient flow and minimal wait times.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, addressing their unique oral health needs.
  • Respond to patient inquiries, address concerns, and provide information in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, maintaining a clean and sterile work environment.
Qualifications:
  • Valid state dental hygiene license and CPR certification.
  • Completion of an accredited dental hygiene program.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build trust with patients.
  • Strong customer service orientation, demonstrating empathy and attentiveness to patients' needs.
  • Proficiency in dental hygiene procedures, techniques, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of dental software and electronic health records systems.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining patient records.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in dental hygiene.
