Role Overview
The Senior Piping Stress Analysis Engineer is responsible for conducting comprehensive stress evaluations, ensuring the feasibility of designs, and providing recommendations while developing alternative solutions. All conclusions will be subject to review by senior management.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate datasheets, specifications, and technical bids for existing technologies and applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and performance criteria.
- Assist and supervise the work of junior engineers, providing guidance and technical support.
- Act as a senior technical liaison between clients, engineering teams, and subcontractors to identify root causes of issues and devise effective solutions.
- Conduct thorough investigations into project requirements, focusing on safety, environmental compliance, and the technical review of piping stress and material specifications.
- Contribute to the development of project timelines, labor estimates, and workload assessments.
- Establish project engineering schedules and prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Perform stress analysis, draft piping specifications, and ensure adherence to all relevant codes and engineering procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments regarding equipment designs, addressing problems and inquiries.
- Occasionally travel to field sites to support product-related issues or gather application data, while interfacing with equipment vendors.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, correspondence, procedures, specifications, and technical calculations. Generate technical documentation for sales teams, clients, and publications, utilizing strong presentation and report writing skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required; a Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- Expertise in piping engineering and a general understanding of related disciplines.
- Proficient in conducting stress analysis on intricate piping systems.
- Ability to function as a specialist in stress analysis.
- Solid grasp of internal economic factors impacting project areas, including costs and profit margins.
- Proven capability to apply advanced principles, laws, and mathematical concepts to enhance design and development processes.
- Demonstrated ability to independently create functional and cost-effective designs that meet complex specifications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with database systems related to engineering functions.
- Exemplary organizational and project planning skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to compose clear and effective written communications in English.
- Proficient in persuasion, negotiation, and motivation techniques.
- Ability to prepare accurate and comprehensible reports and presentations, demonstrating strong internal communication skills.
- Capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment and readily accept new responsibilities.
- Proven mentoring abilities and project management skills.
