About the Role:

Mott MacDonald is seeking a highly experienced Construction Manager/Resident Engineer to join our construction management team in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are looking for a professional with extensive experience in large underground water/wastewater conveyance infrastructure and/or tunnels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on-site delivery of construction management services and manage a team of construction professionals.
  • Support construction safety implementation and confirm contractor safety programs are submitted, approved, and followed.
  • Implement schedule, cost, quality, communication, decision-making, and information tools and processes across the project.
  • Support program and project controls activities such as schedule control, cost control, change management, risk management, and reporting tools.
  • Lead project meetings with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor contract progress and make recommendations to clients for contractor payments.
  • Work to build a cooperative partnership between clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of project issues and overall project success.
  • Enforce contract documents, including plans and specifications.
  • Understand start-up and commissioning plans and identify associated resources as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 15 years of experience in construction management, with a minimum of 5 years in mechanized tunnel excavation.
  • EPB TBM project experience.
  • California PE, PMP, or CCM certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Construction management experience working on large diameter water/wastewater (or industrial) conveyance pipelines.
  • Tunneling experience in urban settings dealing with multiple stakeholders and the public.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers to prepare reports using Microsoft Office programs.
  • Experience working in/for municipal agencies or utility infrastructure organizations.
  • Ability to respond proactively in a high-paced environment and willingness to adjust and respond effectively to changes.

What We Offer:

  • Salary Range: $125,000 - $225,000.
