Join Our Team as a Certified Respiratory Therapist

Overview:
At SSM Health, we believe in the power of healing and the importance of providing exceptional care. As a Certified Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in evaluating and managing patients with respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough assessments of patients to determine the appropriate respiratory therapy treatments.
2. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient diagnoses and physician orders.
3. Administer prescribed respiratory treatments and monitor patient responses to therapy.
4. Maintain accurate records of patient conditions and treatment outcomes.
5. Educate patients and their families about respiratory health and available community resources.
6. Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of respiratory equipment.
7. Participate in departmental inventory management and adhere to cleaning protocols for equipment.
8. Respond promptly to medical emergencies and assist in rapid response situations.

Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent experience.

Experience:
No prior experience required.

Licenses and Certifications:
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- State-specific Respiratory Care Practitioner certification.

Physical Requirements:
1. Frequent standing, walking, and communication with patients.
2. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs regularly, with occasional lifting of heavier items.
3. Visual acuity for assessing patient conditions and recognizing alarms.
4. Ability to respond to auditory signals and communicate effectively.
