Job Title: LVAD Specialist RN

UC San Diego Health is seeking a highly skilled LVAD Specialist RN to join our team. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients with left ventricular assist devices (LVADs).

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive care to patients with LVADs, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and coordination.
  • Develop and implement patient education programs to promote self-care and independence.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in LVAD technology and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • RN License issued by the State of California.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • VAD coordinator experience.
  • Comfortable teaching patients and their families about the care and maintenance of mechanical circulatory devices.
  • Strong clinical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BSN.
  • ACLS and/or ART.
  • VAD-C certification.
  • Experience with EPIC/Phoenix.
