Job Title: Senior Director of Intellectual Property Strategy

We are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Intellectual Property Strategy to join our dynamic and collaborative team at Biotech Company. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for building and leading the intellectual property function, providing strategic guidance on IP matters, and managing outside counsel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive IP strategy to protect and leverage our biotechnology innovations
  • Manage all IP matters, including patent prosecution, freedom-to-operate, infringement, and validity analyses
  • Establish and maintain relationships with outside counsel, particularly for patent prosecution and review matters
  • Develop and implement processes to identify and protect our IP, ensuring timely and cost-effective protection
  • Collaborate with our R&D team to identify new inventions and develop processes to protect our IP
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in biotechnology intellectual property, preferably with prior law firm experience
  • Experience leading the global IP strategy for therapeutics through discovery, research, and development
  • Strong technical background in life sciences, such as biochemistry, molecular biology, or other relevant areas
  • Ability to run a tight process to achieve organizational timeline and budget goals
  • Clear and concise prose, with the ability to establish clear frameworks for decision-making
