Job Description
This position is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and performing fire extinguisher checks in accordance with fire codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and test fire extinguishers in commercial and residential buildings to ensure they are installed and functioning correctly.
- Identify system deficiencies and prepare accurate and timely inspection reports.
- Install or service fire extinguishers in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and industry standards.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure fire extinguishers are in good working condition.
- Respond to emergency service calls and provide assistance as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace, adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- A high school education or equivalent is preferred.
- Knowledge of NFPA standards and fire safety regulations is preferred.
- Experience with fire extinguishers and fire safety equipment is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A clean driving record and reliable transportation to/from the office or job site.
- Flexibility with scheduling requirements, including evening, weekend, and out-of-town assignments.
