Academic Mentor and Head Football Coach

About the Role:

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the football team, developing and implementing lesson plans, and providing guidance and support to students. They will also be expected to maintain accurate records and reports, communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and community groups, and adhere to school system rules and regulations.

Educational Qualifications:

A valid teaching certificate is essential for this role. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of educational principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Determining individual and class needs through ongoing assessment and evaluation
• Establishing clear objectives and planning learning experiences that cater to diverse student needs
• Implementing a range of instructional strategies to meet objectives and engage students
• Maintaining a safe and functional learning environment by establishing and enforcing high standards of behavior
• Exhibiting exceptional human relations skills and promoting positive relationships with students, staff, and the wider community
• Evaluating the effectiveness of educational programs and making adjustments as needed
• Communicating regularly with parents, colleagues, and community groups to share progress and address concerns
• Using correct grammar in written and oral communication
• Maintaining accurate records and reports, including attendance, grades, and behavioral data
• Adhering to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and State and Federal regulations
• Pursuing ongoing professional growth and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills
• Performing other duties as assigned by the local board of education

Salary:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000, depending on qualifications and experience. This is a competitive salary that reflects the importance of this role in supporting the academic and personal growth of students.

Location:

This role is based at Prattville High School, located in the heart of Alabama. The school is part of the Alabama Department of Education and serves a diverse student population.

Working Hours:

This is a full-time position, requiring a commitment to working 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate school events and activities.
