We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant II Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support to providers and other healthcare team members in an outpatient clinic setting.
Key Responsibilities- Perform rooming and intake processes, collecting and documenting patient data, including vital signs, height, weight, and medical history.
- Collect patient and family data, including medical and social history.
- Review patient medication lists, allergies, and preferred pharmacies.
- Assist providers with treatments, examinations, and procedures.
- Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.
- Administer medications under provider direction.
- Perform tests, such as EKGs and eye exams, under provider direction.
- Review patient records to determine routine health screenings.
- Ensure exam and treatment rooms are stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
- Provide patient education and instructions.
- Assist with patient registration, scheduling, and referrals.
- Answer clinic phones and assist with in-basket tasks.
- Participate in emergency situations as directed by providers or nurses.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Medical Assisting program accreditation by CAAHEP or ABHES preferred but not required.
- Medical Assistant certification by AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA required.
- Basic Life Support Certification from AHA or ARC required.
- At least one year of full-time experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified.
- Ability to perform essential functions, demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, and engage positively with patients and staff.
